application faqs

What are the requirements to be accepted as a contributor?
Please see here for full requirements.

Can I apply for multiple roles?
Yes, you may, but you will only be accepted in one role.

Can I still edit my portfolio if I already submitted it?
Yes, you can, as long as it is done within the application period (Sept 15-Oct 16).

How many contributors will you accept?
We will be accepting 13-18 page artists, 3-4 writers, and 4-5 merch artists.

If accepted, can I draw/write about ships?
As this is a gen-themed fanzine, we will not allow any explicit romantic ships/content centered on romantic ships. Implied or subtle mentions of ships may be allowed to a certain extent. However, we highly encourage the exploration of platonic relationships in our zine pieces.

I’m a Filipino, but I’m based internationally. Can I still apply?
Yes, you’re very welcome to apply! However, please note that there may be differences in compensation details. Please see the next question for details.

How will the contributors be compensated for the zine?
The profit of the sales will be equally split amongst contributors and mods. We will also be providing the contributors with a free digital zine bundle regardless of sales. The mod team aims to provide each contributor a free full physical bundle of the zine, inclusive of shipping. If the sales will not breakeven, the zine will be available for contributors to purchase at production cost
For accepted contributors based outside the Philippines, however, if the team will be able to provide a full physical bundle, we cannot guarantee the inclusion of shipping fees due to high international shipping costs.

How will the applicants be screened for their applications?
The mods will be using a point system to score the applicants based on the criteria set in the beginning of the application guidelines.
